I-Fast Exercise at DSM Resins

Date posted: 15-10-2009

On October 15th 2009, I-Fast organised a virtual exercise with RescueSim at the DSM Resins plant in Hoek van Holland. The exercise was part of a larger scale preparation and incident training by DSM.

The first scenario focused on training for the in-house fire teams. By observing and monitoring an incident they determined their plan of attack. The next scenario also included the site managers, which participated in the role of incident command team.

Only faced with the information the 'ground teams' provided them trough portable radios, several major decisions on how to react to the incident had to be made.

The general feedback after the training showed the team was very enthusiastic. The incident command team considered this training as one of the most realistic exercises they had ever done, due to the communication aspect and the changing scenario they where faced with.
