Hospital and Prison Safety

This award winning project called "Preparing Together for Safety" (Dutch: Samen Voorbereid Veilig) is currently in development at VSTEP.

VSTEP received an innovation award and grant from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for this project, which is an emergency response and evacuation training simulator for Hospital and Prison staff.

The project focusses on improving the competences of Company Safety Officers and staff in areas where the mobility of the occupants is restricted e.g. Hospitals and Prisons. It aims to both optimize the effectiveness of the organization’s own emergency response procedures as well as improving the cooperation and communication with the professional emergency services at the incident scene.

Leading hospitals, prisons and emergency services in The Netherlands have committed themselves to participate to this 24-month project, which starts in January 2009. The resulting application will become broadly available for both private and public organizations.

More information can be found on the project website (Dutch site).
