Dutch Railways use RescueSim simulator for tunnel incident and evacuation training

VSTEP’s virtual incident training simulator RescueSim is currently used by the Dutch Railways (NS) to train its personnel in tunnel evacuation procedures and railway incident management. The goal is to train all 6000 train drivers and conductors of the Dutch Railways during a one year period.

The Technical University of Varna officially opened its new simulation training center during a high profile opening ceremony. The center incorporates multiple VSTEP NAUTIS and RescueSim simulators and will be used for both maritime and incident management education and training in the region.

RescueSim used during large scale incident exercise in the Thomassentunnel (Rozenburg)

On Thursday June 7th, a large scale real-life emergency response exercise was held in the Thomassentunnel in Rozenburg. RescueSim was used for assistance and visualisation by the first responders and tunnel authorities during this exercise.
