VSTEP’s virtual incident training simulator RescueSim is currently used by the Dutch Railways (NS) to train its personnel in tunnel evacuation procedures and railway incident management. The goal is to train all  6000  train drivers and conductors of the Dutch Railways during a one year period.

The Technical University of Varna officially opened its new simulation training center during a high profile opening ceremony. The center incorporates multiple VSTEP NAUTIS and RescueSim simulators and will be used for both maritime and incident management education and training in the region.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and VSTEP have been awarded the “ICT-project of the year” award for their RescueSim Virtual Airport Incident Management simulator.

VSTEP has developed a software interface for IMO Type Approved radar and chart radar systems,  making radar and ECDIS training possible on real radar and ECDIS systems, instead of emulated systems.

Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd. Hong Kong installed the next generation VSTEP NAUTIS full mission Bridge Simulator at the Wallem Maritime Training Centre Philippines (WMTCP).

On Thursday June 7th, a large scale real-life emergency response exercise was held in the Thomassentunnel in Rozenburg. RescueSim was used for assistance and visualisation by the first responders and tunnel authorities during this exercise.

Following the successful 2011 launch of RescueSim in the UK, the customer base in Britain for this virtual training platform is growing at a steady pace.

VSTEP has successfully delivered a NAUTIS Tug Trainer Simulator at T.O.S (Transport & Offshore Services) headquarters. The NAUTIS Tug Trainer is a new generation of DNV certified Tug Handling Simulators.

VSTEP will be demonstrating its EyeObserve Simulator for Surveillance Camera Operators and its RescueSim Incident Management Simulator at ITEC 2012 in London.

The Mechelen F&R Service and other emergency response services within the safety region of Rivierenland (Belgium) have used the virtual RescueSim platform for their incident response training.

To train surveillance camera operators to identify strange and suspicious behavior and detect and report criminal & terrorist activities, VSTEP developed the EyeObserve Simulator in cooperation with the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Police, the National Coordinator Bureau for Counterterrorism (NCTV) and TNO Defence & Security. Dutch newspaper METRO devoted a cover article on this innovative simulator. 

The VSTEP project to train the Schiphol Airport emergency services and safety personnel with the RescueSim virtual incident response trainer has been nominated by the leading Dutch computer magazine Computable for the ICT-project of the year award. 

For EMO, the largest transshipment terminal for coal and iron ore in Western Europe, VSTEP created a crane simulator for preparation and training of future and current dry bulk crane operators, increasing their effectiveness and precision.

VSTEP was invited by the Dutch Embassy to demonstrate its RescueSim Virtual Incident Management Platform during the Korean Serious Games Seminar in Seoul, South Korea.
