I-FastDate posted: 15-10-2009 On 15 october an instructor from I-Fast held a virtual exercise at the DSM Resins plant in Hoek van Holland, DSM is well known for there safety and proper preparation before having incidents. The exercise was aranged as part of their preperation.
The first scenario was a training for the in-house fire teams, by observing and monitoring an incident they determined their plan of attack. The next scenario also included the site managers, which participated in the role of incident command team. Only faced with the information the 'ground teams' provided them trough portable radios, several major decisions on how to react to the incident had to be made. The response after the training was enthusiastic. The incident command team experienced this training as one of the most realistic exercises they had ever done, due to the communication aspect and the changing scenario they where faced with.
